This policy explains what personal data this website collects, why, and what rights you have over it. The data controller is Beamlight (KVK 90049209), a sole trader established in the Netherlands. If you have any questions, email reach@beamlight.me.
I keep this short and concrete. If something here is unclear, just ask.
Who I am
Beamlight (KVK 90049209), operating mariusbuilds.com as a sole trader in the Netherlands. I’m the person responsible for your data under the GDPR. Contact: reach@beamlight.me (KVK 90049209, the Netherlands).
What I collect and why
When you use the contact form. The form on the contact page is provided by Tally (Tally BVBA, Belgium). When you submit it, I collect the details you enter (such as your name, email, and message). I use these only to reply to you and to discuss working together. Legal basis: your consent and the steps taken at your request before any agreement (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and 6(1)(b)).
Analytics. I use Umami, a privacy-friendly, open-source analytics tool that does not use cookies and does not collect personal data. It reports aggregate, anonymous stats (like page views and referrers) so I can see what’s useful. No individual visitor is identified.
Server logs. My host (Netlify) processes basic technical data such as IP address and browser type to serve the site securely. Legal basis: legitimate interest in running and protecting the site (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
I do not sell your data, and I don’t use it for advertising.
Who processes your data on my behalf
- Tally (tally.so) — contact form submissions. EU-based.
- Netlify — website hosting and delivery.
- Umami — anonymous, cookieless analytics.
Each acts as a processor under a data processing agreement. Where any provider transfers data outside the EEA, that transfer relies on Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.
How long I keep it
Contact form messages: kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any resulting work, then deleted. Server logs: short retention set by the host. Analytics: aggregate only, no personal data retained.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask me to: access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how I use it, or receive a portable copy. To exercise any of these, email reach@beamlight.me and I’ll respond within one month. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
This site isn’t aimed at children, and I don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent me data, email me and I’ll delete it.
